Definition of Holistic Massage
Holistic massage is a complimentary therapy. It is designed for relaxation, to ease aches and pains and sore muscles. It can help with stress, anxiety and sleep. I aim to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system and bring a sense of calm. My practice is based on Swedish Massage.
Holistic Massage is not a medical (I cannot diagnose, cure or advise you to stop any medication you are taking) or sexual ('extra' service) practice and I do not massage the groin area. I take my professional practice very seriously and the massage will be conducted within my own strict boundaries, using drapes for dignity and privacy for the client. Holistic Massage can still be carried out even when the client is clothed, however, please be reassured you are in a safe environment. It will only be me present in the space we are working in.
Instead of booking a particular treatment, you book a time slot and each massage will be tailored to your need. This does not mean if you want a back massage, for example, that you cannot have one but I may recommend something else based on your consultation at the start. Everything is done with your agreement. You don't have to have what I suggest!

Location and opening hours
I work from home, based on Hodnet, Shropshire. My address will be shared when you book.
Massage therapy is a secondary job for me.
The clinic is open Friday and Saturday. I am unavailable Tue-Thu. You can contact me any time and I endeavour to reply within 24hrs from Friday to Monday.
Payment
You can pay directly by BACS. I will accept cash on the day. I do not hold your bank details, however you may leave a card on file on Square Bookings - I do not have access to the details.
** I request a £5 deposit to secure your date/time. This will be requested at the time of booking.
Initial consultation and follow ups
On your first session we will have a consultation and will be based around the details on your Consultation form - you will be emailed one on your first session, the consultation time is included in your booking slot so for your first appointment, please arrive 15 minutes beforehand. For any appointment, do not arrive more than 5 minutes early as entry will not be permitted until then. We will have a quick catch up before the start of each session after your initial booking. If this is your first time, I will call you first about your appointment to ascertain suitability for the massage.
***Security Review***:
As a lone worker, I must verify all of my new clients, so with that I ask all new clients to send a photograph of themselves via email (this is kept within my password protected Google Drive) including their consultation form. They can be sent in two emails if that is easier. Failure to do so will mean your booking will be cancelled. You will also need to include your address on our booking system, without a current address I am unable to verify you have a place of residence, and again your booking will be cancelled.
Signing in/out: when I client comes to my property, I send a text message to a responsible person to let them know I am now with a client and how long that client will be with me. Once the client has left I send a follow up text message to say that client has left. If they do not receive an 'out' text they will try to call and if there is no answer they will call the emergency services.
When entering my property you will be seen on CCTV and this data is held for 30 days on tapo cloud.
Who can have massage
Please consider your health at the time of booking and when attending that booking if your situation has changed. There may be times where massage is either not suitable or cannot be carried out. If you have any queries as to whether you can have massage, then please don't hesitate to contact me but to give examples, recent heart attack/stroke, contagious diseases including covid, colds and flu, broken bones, in your rehabilitation period following a recent operation and / or intoxication will affect you having the treatment.
If you are pregnant, I will massage you but will not do any work on your tummy. Massage is likely to be tailored for relaxation only such as head, shoulders and feet.
If you are under 14, I am unable to give massage. For those that are 14 and under 18, I will massage but only with an adult in the room. Both the child and adult need to give consent.
Unfortunately I do not have the skills required to work with vulnerable adults or children with learning difficulties.
For those that have complete mobility restrictions or are over 70, please contact me and I may be able to offer a mobile service.
Arrival
You may park your car on our drive in front of the gate. Use the door bell at the front door and I will collect you from the gate.
Please note that there is CCTV at the front door and your arrival will be recorded and stored for 30 days on TapoCloud.
I ask all my clients to respect my property and do not dry steer on my drive as it damages the surface.
Cancellation
I appreciate from time to time life throws things at us we weren't expecting. If you have paid for your session and you cancel or reschedule within 2 to 24 hours notice, there will be a 50% booking fee or your deposit will not be refunded. If you cancel within 2 hours, the full fee will be applicable. Please note that if you are intending to pay by cash, you cancel and you do not pay the amount owed, I will not take any more bookings from you.
If you are ill, please do not come to your appointment, waiver of your fee will be at my discretion.
Privacy and consent
I take my professional obligations and the privacy of my clients very seriously. I will always discuss your treatment with you, ask you for feedback and make sure you are clear about what will happen during the session.
I will never share your information with anyone without asking you first. I keep your records in password protected software program that only I can access.
You will be asked to consent to Marketing communication. I only send out emails/texts that relate directly to my business so for example, I may send out import updates, offers etc. I have a separate sim card to store your phone numbers on my phone which is accessible via biometrics. Other than that your details (name and contact) are stored in mailchimp. Mailchimp is an online email marketing platform.
You have the right to ask that your records are anonymised if you wish to terminate our professional relationship but please note, I have to keep your records for seven years by law following the last date of contact. After such date they will be destroyed. You have a right to request your documents at any time.
When purchasing online through my booking system your personal data is collected and is handled as above noted. All third party service providers have their own privacy policies.
If you wish to complain about the way I handle your data, you can complain to me in the first instance and if you are still not happy, you can go through the complaints procedure with the Information Commissioners Office (https://ico.org.uk).
